Description
What a blanket is and is not
This is a heat device. It raises your skin and core temperature and makes you sweat heavily. It is not a traditional sauna — there is no ambient air heat and nothing for your lungs and airways, which is a real part of the sauna experience. What you are buying is the accessible version: the heat exposure and the twenty minutes lying still, in an apartment, for a fraction of the cost and none of the plumbing.
On the claims you will see elsewhere
You will find sauna blankets marketed for detoxification, fat loss and lymphatic drainage. We are not going to make those claims. Sweat is thermoregulation, not detoxification; the weight lost in a session is water and returns with your next glass of it. Regular heat exposure has genuinely interesting research behind it around cardiovascular adaptation and perceived recovery, and that literature is worth reading — but it is not a substitute for medical advice and we are not qualified to give any.
Using it safely
Hydrate before and after. Start at 20 minutes at a mid setting rather than an hour at maximum. Wear long sleeves and trousers — direct skin contact at high heat is uncomfortable and the manual says the same. Do not use it if you are pregnant, if you have a cardiovascular condition, or if you are on medication affecting heat regulation or sweating, without speaking to a clinician first.
